As some of you know, my dad (aka Poppy, Trev, Beachball, Crack) has recently lost the battle to melanoma - it won the fight despite him participating in a cancer drug trial, radiation and chemo. He asked me to lose weight, get fit and live a long healthy life – which I am now trying to do. So, in order to motivate me a little more, I thought that a fun run might be a good goal to aim for when I came across the Brisbane Twilight Run which is raising funds for the CURE CANCER AUSTRALIA FOUNDATION.  Cure Cancer Australia has been operating since 1967 and acts as a front line source to provide vital start up funding for innovative, groundbreaking research projects across all types of cancer.

So the run is held on March 18, 2012. There are a number of run options – half marathon, 10km, 3km or kids challenge. For those of you who can't join me, but would like to support me to raise funds for this charity, please donate.  I would be very honoured. As would dad. The team name is “Doin it for Dad...and...” (the ...and... is so that you can also make this a personal journey for someone who has battled cancer that you want to do it for).
